Cafe Mawal in Houston

Had a nice experience at the restaurant, unfortunately valet had to ruin it all. I parked valet because there is no other parking options and the valet people were very nice at first. When I received my car, the glove compartment was open and my file folder was opened also which I didn't notice till I was driving away and couldn't turn back because of the long valet line. Luckily, there was nothing worth stealing in there. Not only that, my car REEKED of marijuana. Completely unprofessional behavior and reckless behavior. Someone could get arrested if they get pulled over because of your unprofessional valet. Will never park with them again and I suggest you don't.

BY FAR THE WORST CAFE IN HOUSTON!!! Terrible service, unbeatable food and straight thieves! my friends and i went the other day, we ordered 2 shishas, two meat hummos and one teapot. we used two cards to pay the bill. i usually look at the price before i sign but this time i didnt, and as i was checking my bank account on the app i saw that they charged me $50 which is insanely incorrect because there is no way the bill came out to be $100. DONT GO THERE!!!!!

Amazing service, amazing place. Best international atmosphere for a hookah in Houston. This place is huge!!! A hidden gem for an international experience. Big Mo was our host and he made us feel like VIP guests.

Lots of Hookah flavors. Young vibe on Fridays. Entertaining DJ and bellydancer. No alcohol but great smoothies. Food is delightful. My only concern is because Houston is so hot, being outdoors in any place is a nightmare. The fans / A/C are on but it is too humid and draining to be outside for too long.

What an amazing place! Everything from drinks to food and hookah and ambiance is really great! Big Mo thank you for such great service all around! We felt welcome!

Came all the way from Dallas, and stayed 35 mins in front of the place waiting for them to open the gate. Their hours are from 2pm to 2am...y’all should change that because at least six cars came and realized they lied about their hours. Attempted calling multiple times with no answer

Great atmosphere, but the customer service isn’t good. Every time i go there the waiters give us our food and hookah and they disappear and i have to go track down my waiter.

Most definitely worse ,dishonest, disgusting place to go to in Houston. Saturday night my friend and I went to this restaurant and the guy that parked our car went through everything and stoled my bag with my laptop in it . I realized the next morning. Went back to mawal and ask for it. Mawal said the have nothing to do with the valet parking. Then we waited 1 for the "valet manager " to come talk to us . When we spoke he literally said my guys have been with me for 5 years i believe them not you .which is a ridiculous answer 🙄. So if you do decide going make sure you have nothing valuable.

Food need to improve lack of flavor but belly dance is superb awesome performances

Very beautiful place. When you drive up you dont really expect the place to be as large and pretty as it is. My friends said the hookah was good, my food was decent as well. The waitress was kind, but a bit slow. Also, no cups of water, only bottle, so there is a charge. Other than that, wonderful experience, would go back again for sure.

Terrific place for hookah, appetizers, and mint tea! They have a great assortment of hookah flavors amongst which are pan which is my favorite. Ample amount of seating area with seating outside as well as indoor lounge style seating section. Service can be a bit slow at times but that is to be expected during busy nights on the weekends.

The food was good... They make you feel SPECIAL, This place was closed yet tge owner took us inside , showed me and my grandgirls the real cultural kindness , ask us to stay and feast on what they had to offer with the kitchen closed.. they brought out the best cold drinks.. the samples of their menu, BROUGHT me back in TIME Of my travels to THE middle east..Make it a point to check this place out at night. Next year on vacation from Washington we will stop back in..Thk you Moe and your staff..

Good place for hookahs. Open air/outdoor setup helps with ventilation of all the smoke. People take their kids, but I'm not sure how good the smoke is for kids. There is a small kids play area. Food tasted pretty good. Service is good too. Our sever Jose, 17 years old, did a fantastic job. Only valet parking is available, they charge $5 during pick up. This is my first time here, and I noticed that the owner walks around and makes sure his "special" customers are happy. Overall, it was good.

Known for its ambience and food it was nothing like it when I visited this place yesterday(sunday). The waiter was completely uninterested in service. Our sides were not bought with the order after informing them about it he said oh I forgot. I felt completely ignored as a guest and left with a very bad experience. Will never go again.

The BEST Hookah cafe I've been to.. relaxed, chilled out place with good people and crowd around. Live music.. and on weekends if you get lucky enough after 9 or 10 pm, there's will be belly dancing show too. Food is great as well.. pick any on the menu!!

Place is Spectacle. Saturday nights are madness, but also toddlers playing in the playground at 1am. It's a trip. So much going on at once. Valet is nice but the queue can build up. Sometimes parking down the street is open but lots of parking lot parties at the same time. Hookah is pretty good. Lemonade drink is great, very refreshing. Nice cloth wall sofa areas outdoors. That's what sets it apart

They charge 4% fee for paying with credit card. Double the merchant fee. Looks like it caters to hookah patrons because the food is average.

Food is great.. has great DJ but prices are a little too high.

Such an awesome place! The manager is so fantastic and has treated us so well each and every time we go! This is our favorite date night place. Amazing atmosphere, food, dessert, and hookah. We even got engaged here.

It’s the whole package - the loud Arabic /Asian music, belly dancing and energized crowd at times joining in on the dance floor and good food & hookah. No alcohol but nice selection of smoothies especially mint green lemonade and Mawal Special is a great entree. Once the show starts servers would be busy.

My most favorite spot, whether you go there with family or with friends it's the perfect place. Great food taste and quality. Love the atmosphere and great service.

The hookah here is some of the best in town! This is definitely a family friendly place. It is not uncommon to see families at this establishment at 2:00AM. It is a great place to see some entertainment with belly dancers. Or catching up with friends while drinking coffee. Oh their coffee!It’s to die for! Seriously, this place is worth a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Really good place to chill and have some hookah with friends. Was there during the weekend. Was kinda crowded but service was good. Had to wait a bit on the food but besides the wait time wasn’t too bad. Place was somewhat clean but I’d expect it to be a little more clean especially during covid

I think it’s stupid regular patrons have to pay for parking. That’s why it’s only 4 stars. I’ve been coming here for years and years. Always great quality hookahs, food, music, and overall good customer service.

Belly Dance on Weekends...Nice ambience and okay Mediterranean food. However the public here is not only to eat as the DJ plays nice Arabic and Bollywood music and hookah lovers actually crowd the place.You won't regret your evening. Note: They have Valet Parking. NO FREE PARKING.

I work in a hookah bar but visit many hookah places in Houston. My first time checking out cafe mawal. Very nice music and chill atmosphere !

Such a cool whimsical spot. They have a lot of colorful indoor sections and beautifully decorated outdoor areas as well. There is a playground for the kids and there's a TV in each section. This is a good place for friends that can't drink. There is no alcohol but they have very pretty virgin drinks. They also have hookah and a great menu. I ordered dessert both times and it was delicious. I had the triple magic cake.

I visited on a slow Saturday afternoon. Pretty chill, food was okay. Hookah was good.

It is a place where everyone want to spend time on a weekend evening. They have a great hookah, belly dance, fire dance performance and some other performances which are really good. I love to be there on every weekend day. Huge crowd and lot of premium cars in the parking lot and it is not so expensive for the service. It took lot of time to get a service since this place was full house. I would recommend this place if you are looking for good hookah.

We went with family for lunch. We ordered many dishes and appetizers. The food was so good and fresh. We all liked it and big moe the server was really good. The seating area was comfortable.

If you haven't been, then you need to go. The restaurant was a former house. From the outside, it looks small, but don't judge a book by its cover. Once you step through the front door, it's a complete transformation. There's a playground in the back for kids to play and tables upon tables. The place is enormous! There are even areas for private dining. The parking is a little messy but it's worth the wait. They have a variety of hookah to choose from but I can't tell you about that because I didn't try it. What I can tell you about is the tea and the food. I ordered mint tea and chicken shawarma.

Absolutely loved this place. Food was AWESOME! Hookah was even better. The atmosphere is euphoric. With a group, on a date , for a meeting, even a celebration. This is a HUGE venue and staff was exceptional. Can’t find a bad thing to say. I’ll be back shortly ... maybe today!
